Practice Areas

I am a criminal defense lawyer who does trial work and appeals (and handles other post-conviction matters) for a fee. My practice is limited to criminal defense trial work, appeals, and other post-conviction matters in Ohio.

Criminal defense at the trial level.

Motion to withdraw pleas/Motion for new trial

Appeals from pleas (guilty pleas and "no contest" pleas)LAW BOOKS.jpg

Appeals from rulings on motions to suppress evidence

Appeals of convictions by judges at bench trials

Appeals of convictions by juries

Appeals of sentences

Appeals to the Supreme Court of Ohio

Postconviction petitions

Petitions for Habeas Corpus (as well as other writs -- mandamus, prohibition, procedendo)

Applications to re-open appeals pursuant to Appellate Rule 26(B) (if your appellate lawyer failed to provide you with the "effective assistance of counsel on appeal" by failing to raise a winning issue or issues -- but you better hurry and contact me since an App R 26(B) application generally must be filed "within ninety days from journalization of the appellate judgment")

Anders "no merit" Briefs. Has your appointed lawyer filed an Anders Brief and you have been given a limited time to file your own brief? Maybe your family wants to hire another lawyer to look at your appeal and do that for you.

My office is located within the jurisdiction of Ohio's Second District Court of Appeals, but I can practice in any Ohio state court and will travel. The Second District covers Champaign County (county court located in Urbana), Clark County (county court located in Springfield), Darke County (county court located in Greenville), Greene County (county court located in Xenia), Miami County (county court located in Troy), and Montgomery County (county court located in Dayton).
